Equest was founded in 1981 and was the first therapeutic riding center in Texas.  Equest provides equine facilitated activities, therapies, and counseling to children and adults with physical, cognitive, sensory, coping, social and learning disabilities and veterans with adjustment challenges.  In May 2017, Equest relocated to the Texas Horse Park in South Dallas.  You can read more about Equest on their website www.equest.org.

On October 29th, the YMSL Legacy chapter spent the entire day working on several projects, including clearing of low lying limbs from some of the riding areas; clearing out an area for use as a camping and picnic area for riders; creating a sensory trail; and, general trail maintenance to remove buried debris that creates a hazard for the horses and riders.

Their chapter really enjoyed the opportunity to work with Equest to help them move the needle on these projects.  It was a very hard, but rewarding day both for Equest and those that volunteered
